Dear [name of budget holder]
Internet Librarian International (ILI) takes place in London next week on 15 & 16 October and I’m really keen to go.
This annual library innovation conference is the go-to forum for libraries and information centres who, like us, need to enhance our services and promote ourselves to new communities. This is particularly important to us as we head into the new academic year and a whole new cohort of library users to attract.
At ILI, I’ll learn from over 80 expert speakers in 60 conference sessions – many of whom are presenting case studies from information environments just like ours. I am particularly keen to hear the sessions on: [insert your wish list here].
These sessions are highly relevant to our library and the challenges we’re currently facing, and I’ll report on my findings, bringing back invaluable new learning to apply here and share with my colleagues.
As time is limited at the start of this new term, ILI offers flexible registration options so I could attend on one of the conference days, rather than both. In that case, I’d prefer to attend [Day One/Day Two].
ILI is also running two full-day workshops the day before the conference, on Monday 14 October. These practical hands-on sessions cover Search Skills and Marketing library services, offering a fast track skills update which would be really useful right now at the start of our new year.
Registration for ILI is still open and they are offering 40% multi-delegate discounts. There are also special discount rates for delegates staying at nearby hotels.
